George VALIOTIS

HTAi Executive Director, Health Technology Assessment international (HTAi)

George Valiotis is an experienced health systems leader with over 25 years of international work in public health, health technology assessment (HTA), and policy reform. As Executive Director of Health Technology Assessment International (HTAi), he leads the global network advancing evidence-based healthcare decision-making. Previously, he was Executive Director of the European Health Management Association (EHMA), where he led major pan-European projects on HTA, digital transformation, vaccine policy, and workforce planning, working closely with EU institutions, national health ministries, and WHO Europe.

George has contributed to shaping European and global pharmacy and health legislation through initiatives such as the European Digital Health Technology Assessment (EDiHTA) and the BeWell workforce programme. He has influenced frameworks on medicine access, vaccine delivery, and digital health policy. He also served in leadership roles including Chair of the European Alliance for Value in Health and the Health Financing Committee of All Policies for a Healthy Europe. George is also a Non-Executive Director of NHS Education for Scotland which provides, co-ordination, development, funding and advise on education, training and workforce development for the NHS and social care staff.
